Are you looking for a first shift job with a company who still values the family culture atmosphere?  We are seeking a person who has some administrative skills and wants to learn more about the Environmental and Safety side of our business.  This will be a part time role working about 20-25 hours a week.  It is Monday through Friday and we are flexible on hours somewhere between 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM prefered. 

 

The EHS Specialist will be responsible for supporting the EHS Manager with planning, implementing, and enforcing the organization’s Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures.

 

What would I do every day?

 

 

  • Serve as a resource for EHS Manager when absent
  • Complete QUEST action items as assigned
  • Assist with Regulatory reporting & documentation (REACH, RoHS, SARA, OSHA 300 etc...)
  • Develops and updates training requirements
  • Safety and training record maintenance
  • Assists in timely creation and submission of corporate reports
  • Assists with special training setup (i.e.; hearing, fire extinguisher etc…)
  • Conducts or assists with internal ISO system audits
  • Assists with developing and maintaining EHS programs, procedures and work instructions
  • Maintain, and oversee the compliance calendar for all regulatory requirements
  • Assists with Safety Data Sheet (SDS) authoring
  • Performs any other duties as assigned

After you join, you will also need to achieve the following paid for and supported by Harris :

  • Train and Pass the  State of Ga Waste Water test
  • Achieve ISO14001 Certification

 

What do we need for you to be successful- Education/Experience :

 

Required:

  • Excellent computer skills including an intermediate level of Excel.
  • Proven high level of written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to simultaneously execute multiple assignments.
  • High school diploma.

 

Preferred –

  • Associate's degree in a related field

 

Key Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Qualities Required

 

Language Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write reports, correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, peers and customers.
  • Ability to participate on a WEBEX meeting

 

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

 

 

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a number of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

Other Qualities

  • Computer skills including a proficiency in MS Office; emphasis on Excel using formulas to manipulate data from various sources into usable reports or formatted data. Access experience a plus.
  • Lean Manufacturing experience related to assembly, packaging and distribution of finished products.
  • Ability to execute responsibilities with minimal supervision while operating with a sense of urgency and accuracy.
  • A sense of ownership for their respective role in regular and emergency situations.
