Embedded Firmware Development Co-op:

This role is ideal for someone Passionate and looking to pursue a career in Embedded Product Design and Product Sustaining Engineering.


The Firmware co-op will collaborate with R&D Engineers to support new product development, existing products   (Perfect Flame & DataSMART) support, design modification and improve the viability of existing product. Should be Proficient in developing firmware in embedded C.


There will be variety of firmware and software task associated with this co-op opportunity. Co-ops will be involved in a wide variety of coding at all levels of embedded software stack, including drivers, middleware, libraries and applications


During the co-op you will develop and enhance the following technical skills:

  • Knowledge of firmware design implementation and debugging
  • Basic knowledge  of fundamentals of Embedded Hardware: Analog, Digital circuit design
  • Capable of using embedded C to solve real world problems
  • Knowledge of embedded programming concepts
  • Review code  and design criteria and optimize performance
  • Hands on experience on 32 bit ARM cortex  or similar microcontroller programming, like STM32
  • Exposure to16/24 bit  ADC and DAC interfacing
  • Bootloader Development
  • Hands on experience with developing the drivers for and debugging common communication protocols such as I2C,SPI,UART,RS485,RS232
  • Exposure to wireless technologies like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, RF
  • Sensor interfacing: Like Pressure, Flow, Temperature etc
  • Memory interfacing: Nand Flash, SD RAM, SD Card etc
  • Gui Display and Touch screen interface
  • Interrupt scheduling and handling
  • Interfacing firmware with webserver



  • Pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering
  • (Computer, Industrial, Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical preferred), Metallurgy or Materials Science
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Ability to work in the United States on a full-time, permanent basis
  • Desire to work in a manufacturing environment
