As a Production Planner, you will develop manufacturing plans for assigned products and departments to ensure customer service levels, optimize manufacturing efficiency and improve inventory turns while working closely with our amazing teams which may include Manufacturing, Purchasing, Engineering, Quality, Sales and Customer Service. This position is critical for achieving customer service, plant efficiency and inventory objectives.  This role is part of an environment that encourages team members to understand customer needs and drive innovation in manufacturing. 

 

Other key responsibilities include:

 

 

Develops production schedules for assigned products and manufacturing departments to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts and/or customer orders. These schedules drive both inventory and customer service levels.

 

Analyzes sales requirements and plant capabilities to develop schedules that will maintain targeted levels of customer service, operating efficiencies and inventory turns.

 

Establishes inventory levels for assigned products by utilizing the appropriate tools in SAP such as reorder points and minimums while assuring that product is available to achieve inventory and customer service objectives.

 

Plans and schedules workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times

 

Utilizes the appropriate capacity planning tools to schedules jobs for each department in order to balance the workload with the capacity of the work center in an effort to minimize overtime expense.

 

Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet changing business conditions in an effort to maintain high levels of customer service.

 

Interfaces with Customer Service, Manufacturing and Purchasing to provide lead times on all assigned make to order items.

 

Partners with Purchasing/Supply Chain to assist in purchasing items required for assigned areas.

 

Analyzes manufacturing inventory negative balances and work order variances to correct inventories and assists with the physical inventory.

 

Determines appropriate SAP Master Data planning factors for MRP, Work Scheduling

 

Ensures accuracy and completeness of product labels and database.

 

Provides support for troubleshooting problems with orders throughout the supply chain.

You are comfortable navigating through ambiguity while enjoying being surrounded by people that are heavily invested in succeeding and driving growth. 

 

You’ll also bring:

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong ERP skills.
  • Preference:  SAP experience
