We are seeking a Senior Product Development Engineer who will play an integral role in the Harris Products Group growth strategy.  They will be responsible for leading innovative new product development projects as well as driving improvements to current products.  

 

The successful candidate will join of a global network of engineers, based in the US, Italy, and Poland, with project teams collaborating across areas of expertise and providing global solutions.   This role will additionally interface with key internal stakeholders to define product strategy and bring those products to realization.   

 

Responsibilities

Play a lead role in researching, planning, designing, and developing new and improved products related to gas control systems to grow and strengthen the Harris business. 

Serve as lead engineer and project manager for major development projects or multiple simultaneous projects.

Drive innovative solutions using ingenuity and creative problem solving.

Ensure that engineering design activities are coordinated per the development procedure, following the stage gate process.

In collaboration with stakeholders, develop the product strategy and defines the value proposition, as well as specification definition and requirements setting.

Interact with suppliers, customers, distributors and sales force on occasional basis.

Work to improve quality, manufacturability and value of existing designs.

Act as a key resource to internal stakeholders on product design and applications.

Supervise a team responsible for engineering documentation.

Assume additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the Company’s 2025 Strategy.

 

Requirements

Bachelors of Science in Engineering; Mechanical, Electric, or Chemical Engineering degree preferred.

5+ years engineering experience.

Experience in new product development preferred, experience in design of gas or liquid handling systems a plus.

Experience with Lean/Six Sigma preferred.

Experience with SAP or ERP systems preferred.
