Our Subassembly Operaters are responsible for setting up drill presses, press machines, automatic assembly machines, and spring machines for completing subassembly parts for Harris industrial and Specialty Gas regulators and safety equipment. Position necessitates a high regard for ISO requirements.
Works safely and supports safety within their team across the organization – as required.
Participates in safety training and demonstrates a high regard for safety at all times.
Wears PPE as required by safety regulations.
Prepares Subassembly Parts
Sets up drill presses, press machines, automatic assembly machines, and spring machine to complete various subassembly parts for Harris regulator and torch equipment.
Sets dies, taps, tools, fixtures and holders per set-up instruction found in process control booklets for each work station.
Sets pressures, feeds, speeds, strokes, and cycle times for the various individual and celled equipment.
Stages needed parts, loads machines, and operates machines to meet quality and productivity standards. Unloads and readies finished parts for transport from Subassembly.
Completes S-2-6 for finished product, shop packet or labor ticket entries for product in process.
Performs first piece inspections and in process inspections per Subassembly work instructions.
Supports Department and Company Initiatives
Works on cost saving projects, Six Sigma projects, and provides support for other team members and projects.
Attends team meetings. Utilizes lean tools and techniques such as 5S and visual factory concepts in maintaining order and cleanliness.
Performs additional tasks to support production as needed or directed by supervisor or management.
Education and/or Experience
Required – 1 year of related work experience and High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred – Experience related to manufacturing; basic computer knowledge
