Reports to: Systems Controls Manager


Shift: First shift, Full-time (weekends, as needed)


Lincoln Electric Automation – Bettendorf (formerly known as Vizient Manufacturing Solutions, Inc.) is a robotic integrator specializing in custom engineered tooling and automated arc welding systems for general and heavy fabrication applications. All of the products are engineered and manufactured in-house for complete control over product quality and project timelines. The Bettendorf location is a division of Lincoln Electric Automation™ in the General Industries group.


Position Summary: Provide communication and support throughout production stages to all necessary departments and individuals. Ensure and maintain safety and quality of electrical systems in order to assist in delivering the best product to customers.



  • Take initiative to meet challenging project timelines and hour budgets;
  • Write and debug effective and safe control programs, which meet end user requirements and company expectations;
  • Maintain quality of equipment shipped;
  • Ensure control programming of equipment and tooling is complete, safe, and functional;
  • Meet requirements for internal runoffs, safety inspections, and other quality control procedures;
  • Clear communication with project management staff and supervisors on issues that may arise;
  • Debugging of electrical systems as needed for operation of all machines;
  • Effective communication with robotic programmers regarding necessary requirements to ensure a project runs smoothly;
  • Uphold company quality objectives and play an active role in reaching continuous improvement objectives; and
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.


Experience / Skills:

  • High attention to detail and quality;
  • Ability to plan and execute daily and weekly scheduled tasks;
  • Ability to keep work area clean and organized;
  • Willingness and ability to follow directions from peers within the Integration department;
  • Excellent team player with organizational and time management skills;
  • Safely operate fork trucks and overhead cranes;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent; or Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science; or equivalent with experience will be considered;
  • 5+ years’ experience in PLC programming;
  • Machine programming (PLC/HMI) experience - Rockwell, GE;
  • Safety system programming and troubleshooting experience;
  • Network programming and troubleshooting experience;
  • Experience in robotic welding (MIG, TIG, laser, spot) preferred;
  • Commitment to company values; and
  • Educational, training and experience requirements may be modified at the management team’s discretion.


Nonessential Skills and Experience:

  • Safety (OSHA, SDS), ANSI (RIA) standards.

  • Understand the Company’s EH&S policy and how it relates to this job;
  • Be aware of OSHA & EPA laws and regulations as well as company rules and policies that pertain to this job;
  • Work in a safe and environmentally friendly manner and observe all company EH&S procedures;
  • Immediately notify the supervisor if there is any safety hazard, any equipment not operating correctly or if there are any questions regarding EH&S procedures; and
  • Attend required EH&S training.

  • Physical demands: While performing duties of job, employee is typically required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; squat; climb; see; talk and hear. Be able to climb ladders; lift hand tools approx. 1-15 lbs. in weight to complete machine assembly, parts up to 30 lbs. Repetition with activity. 
  • Work environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate; temperature in the assembly area may fluctuate with the seasons, as the production area is not air-conditioned.
