PURPOSE: To participate as a technologist on the development of Lincoln’s new Metal Additive Manufacturing Technology.  This will involve robotic metal printing of parts and the development of proprietary software, sensors and control loops, and deposition metallurgy necessary for the new technology.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES):

  • Work with the New Additive Manufacturing team operating and developing our new Metal Additive Manufacturing Technology
  • Use computers, CAD/CAM and Robotic controllers for the manufacture of Parts (training provided as needed)
  • Assist in the preparation of documentation for tracking part manufacture or system development.
  • Operate basic manufacturing equipment to remove additive part from build plates
  • Interface with visiting customers inquiring about this new manufacturing technology

 

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with additional education beyond high school preferred.
  • Highly motivated, quick to learn, safety conscious.
  • Capable of lifting 60 pounds on an occasional basis
  • Able to organize and maintain a neat work area.
  • Able to develop and maintain records and to follow projects through to conclusion.
  • Able to plan and work on multiple projects with minimal supervision and instruction.
  • Good understanding of the MIG Welding process
  • Previous experience with Robotic Welding is not required, but preferred
  • Understanding and prior use of CAD of CAM tools is preferred
