Business Development/Senior Sales Specialist (Energy)

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Leads the business development activities in the Energy industry segment (power generation, oil & gas, petrochemical), in particular replacing cast components with additively manufactured components, by building key customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, negotiating and closing business deals, and maintaining knowledge of current market conditions. Establishes the strategic sales goals and formulates plans to makes sure goals are met.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES):  

  • Research prospective accounts in targeted markets, pursue leads, and follow through to a successful agreement.
  • Understand the target markets, including industry, company, project, company contacts, and which market strategies can be used to attract clients.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and sales teams to ensure that requirements are met.
  • Maintain relationships with current clients and identify new prospects.
  • Possess a strong understanding of our value proposition, product offering, our competition in the industry, and positioning.
  • Follow the latest industry developments and stay up-to-date on competitors.
  • Responsible for developing colleagues’ and customer’s understanding in the Energy industry segment.
  • Works with complex or high profile territory/account, products/services, sales or account management process; serves as team lead.
  • Plans own territory or account approach and has input into colleagues’ approaches; manages own and often others’ resources.
  • Has broad authority/opportunity to set and negotiate product/service terms.
  • Recognized as an expert in the casting process and cast components.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as need or directed in support of the Company’s 2025 Strategy.

 
BASIC REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Engineering or Business degree preferred.
  • 8 plus years of a proven track record in business sales or related activities in the supply of cast components to energy markets.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with emphasis on priorities and goal setting.
  • Superior presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strategic thinking.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking abilities.
  • Technical skills required to understand and propose products or solutions by focusing on client requirements.
  • Ability to communicate information, whether technical or non-technical to staff members and customers, in a clear and concise manner.
  • This position requires traveling.
