PURPOSE: Join the COR Team as a FCAW Specialist working with Lincoln Electric Global Subsidiaries to improve processes, technologies, cost structures, and promote the continuous improvement of Flux Core Wire Manufacturing in the pursuit of Operational Excellence.  This includes benchmarking, standardization, audits, and analysis of opportunities.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES)

  • Support Global FCAW Operations to improve and standardize methods, technologies, processes, operating procedures.
  • Support Global Consumable Operations in problem solving/resolution from simple engineering solutions to complex engineering solutions involving deep dive studies and engineering analysis.
  • Support Global Consumable Operations in the pursuit of Operational Excellence through standardization, benchmarking, training, and the Lincoln Electric Business System.
  • Work and collaborate effectively with other COR Team members to provide technical and operational support to Global Operations.
  • Serve as interface between design and final product launch of Consumable products at Lincoln Global facilities – either as a new design product (from a Lincoln Global R&D project) or an established product transferred from one Lincoln facility to be produced in another.
  • Assist with instruction of on-site product evaluation of consumable products - for conformance to proper weldability performance, customer requirements, and industry standards.
  • Support and coordinate Technology Transfer projects throughout Lincoln Global.
  • Develop financial models/justification, facilitate Capital Account Request (CAR) approvals, and manage approved spending for assigned projects. Train and mentor site personnel on Lincoln’s corporate CAR process and supporting documentation & analysis.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the Company’s 2025 Strategy.

 

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

  • BS Degree in an Engineering related Field or Equivalent BS Degree backed by experience. 
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in consumables related environment in the areas of R&D, Methods, and/or Manufacturing design. 
  • Consumable Focused Knowledge of the shop floor processes and related equipment (FCAW, GMAW, SMAW, or SAW): Welding certificate, or willing to attend Welding School to acquire hands on skills in welding consumables.
  • Experience beyond Consumables is desirable.  Quality, Operations, Machines, etc…..
  • Highly motivated, organized, and ability to work independently or in groups with minimal supervision.
  • Overseas travel is required.
  • Able to travel 15 – 35% although periodically could exceed this amount depending on a specific project needs.
