Summary:

Lincoln Electric is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support our fast-charging electric vehicle charging platform (EV). This is an exciting opportunity to join the leader in high output DC machinery within a high impact/high visibility role. This Engineer will provide direct support to the design, development and maintenance of control systems and firmware for products such as switching power supplies, welding and cutting equipment, engine driven generators, and manufacturing automation equipment that drive our Electric Vehicle Charger production initiatives.

Responsibilities: 

• Working with Electrical and Mechanical Engineers to design digital control systems for power electronics and motor control applications.

• Programming microcontrollers in C and C++ using a Real-Time Operating System.

• Reading and interpreting electronic schematics and component data sheets.

• Testing and documentation of firmware designs.

• May lead projects within a broader project or ongoing activities or objectives.

• Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.

Required:

• Minimum four-year engineering degree is required. Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering is preferred.

• Level II: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree required in an engineering field and 3+ years experience

• Level III: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree required in an engineering field and 5+ years experience

• Level IV: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree required in an engineering field and 8+ years experience

• Candidates will have 8+ years’ experience. 

• Must have industry experience writing C for embedded platforms.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent organization skills.
• Initiative to take ownership of product designs.
• Experience with FPGA development using VHDL is a plus.
