PURPOSE: Define, develop, implement and sustain cost effective molding processes, materials, equipment, tooling and methods in accordance with best industry practices, product specifications and quality standards.  Guide product design, production and operations on viable solutions for all facets of molded parts that go into Lincoln Electric’s product offering.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS degree in Engineering required 
  • Minimum 3 years of engineering experience required 
  • Knowledge of various molding processes, tools and materials.
  • Must have good judgment, be well organized, and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Commitment to seeking opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
  • Ability to research, analyze and justify financial purchases and make sound financial decisions
  • Understanding of six sigma tools and statistical process control
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including positive communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Work effectively and cross-functionally on a regular basis
  • Proficient in MS Office, including Word, Excel, Power Point; CAD software; ability to learn SAP
  • Experience in project management and ownership
  • Ability to perform hands-on work as required

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Define, develop, and implement efficient molding processes
  • Support R&D and production regarding product design, material and processes
  • Troubleshoot and correct production tool, equipment and or process issues
  • Establish routings, part cost data and MOQ’s
  • Specify and approve mold tooling for plastic, powdered metal and die cast
  • Justify and purchase new equipment and auxiliaries
  • Implement and manage equipment installation, floor layout changes and utility improvements
  • Create change requests, permission notes, work orders and work instructions as required
  • Occasionally design molded parts and fixturing for support or production use.
  • Work with robot and automation program routines
  • Train production operators in new processes or in the use of new equipment
  • Occasional travel to subsidiary manufacturing plants and external supplier facilities may be required
  • Support the ISO 9001, 14001 and all safety initiatives in the Machine Division
  • Other assignments as assigned by the Manager
