Summary

 

Lincoln Electric is seeking an Engineering Manager for a High Technology Software Engineering Group.. Responsibilities

 

  • Manage a team of embedded software engineers to achieve business growth in accordance with set plan.
  • Provide technical guidance and expertise to the team, ensuring best practices are followed in software design, coding, testing, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineering, product management, and quality assurance, to define software requirements, specifications, and deliverables.
  • Manage the entire software development lifecycle, from conceptualization and design to implementation and maintenance, while meeting project timelines and quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, allocate resources effectively, and track progress, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Proactively address lab related environment, ergonomic, and safety issues.
  • Identify and manage projects that are aimed at reducing costs on existing and new products.
  • Ensure that the team is identifying and addressing machine reliability issues while ultimately reducing warranty costs.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in embedded software development, and apply this knowledge to drive continuous improvement within the team.
  • Support the personal growth of direct reports through ongoing professional development.

 

Education & Experience Required

 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience, preferred
  • Experience with embedded systems, real-time operating systems, and software-hardware interactions.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++ and experience with software development tools and version control systems.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience in managing software projects using project management tools.
  • Demonstrate ability in personnel and project management, financial analysis, and governmental
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to details.
  • Ability to build and maintain superior relationships with internal and external clients at all levels.
  • Anticipates internal and/or external business challenges and/or regulatory issues; recommends process, product or service improvements
  • Solves unique and complex problems that have a broad impact on the business
  • Contributes to the development of functional strategy
  • Leads project teams to achieve milestones and objectives
  • Typically operates with broad latitude in a complex environment
