PURPOSE: Lincoln Electric is looking for a Front End Web Developer who is motivated to combine design and development knowledge to build websites and applications to support our business. Responsibilities will include translation of business requirements & UI/UX designs to actual code. You will work with other developers and designers to bridge the gap between design and development implementation, taking an active role on both sides by supporting the definition of how the solution works, looks and performs.


Under limited supervision, responsible for providing high quality front-end development, programming, testing, implementation and maintenance of Lincoln Electric web sites and associated applications.  Has advanced knowledge and experience in troubleshooting problems. Demonstrates strong understanding of technical concepts and can be relied upon to problem solve with minimal guidance.


Designs and develops primarily Internet/web pages and applications such as e-commerce and content-driven websites. Codes, tests, debugs, documents and implements web applications using a variety of languages and platforms such as HTML, Java, PHP, JSP, Python, AJAX, JavaScript, ASP, CGI, Perl, XML. Develops proof-of-concepts and prototypes of easy-to-navigate user interfaces (UI) and web pages that are visually appealing, easy to navigate and built for modern web experiences.



  • Develops, implements and maintains reusable code and libraries to be used for corporate web sites, e-commerce applications, and mobile web applications.
  • Works with server-side infrastructure and 3rd party technology partners along with creative and business stakeholders to build, integrate and deploy web applications and functionality to support business goals while adhering to development and design best practices.
  • Leads and performs troubleshooting, code maintenance and quality control during web project and system updates to ensure usability of web applications. Works closely with IT to provide front-end support and troubleshooting for complex web projects. Triages and manages production issues as they surface.
  • Identifies and provides ongoing optimization and enhancements for both existing and future web applications for maximum speed and scalability. Ensures that developed results are compatible across multiple platforms and browsers.
  • Researches, develops and proposes new technologies to improve application architecture.  Researches, tests and trains others in best practices for CSS, JavaScript, HTML, performance, mobile design and other front-end development related topics.
  • Creates documentation that defines how to utilize, maintain, and troubleshoot applications used in Lincoln Electric web sites that can be used by web team members in other Lincoln offices globally.
  • Analyzes problems, makes recommendations and determines appropriate course correction measures to deliver optimal user experiences.
  • Ability to write code in a high-paced and challenging environment with an emphasis on using best practices to develop high quality software that meets project requirements, budget, and schedule.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as need or directed in support of the Company's goals and strategic objectives.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Information Systems, Marketing, Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Five plus years’ experience in front end web development required with degree; 7-10 years without degree.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, must be comfortable prioritizing tasks, demonstrate flexibility, display a strong work ethic, critical attention to detail, and sense of urgency.
  • Advanced understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks.
  • Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.
  • Demonstrated mobile responsive development expertise is a must.
  • Ability to understand CSS changes and their ramifications to ensure consistent style across platforms and browsers
  • Experience with continuous integration stack and client-side build/dependency.
  • Ability to set up sites and applications on a local, development environment.
  • Confident working in various tools and platforms such as CMS systems (Sitecore, Salesforce, Wordpress, etc.), Google Analytics, Project Management tools, etc. Advanced knowledge of SEO best practices, preferred.
