PRIMARY FUNCTION

The General Manager has overall responsibility for leading the Cleveland Machine Division and the Machine Plant (LEMAQ) in Torreon, Mexico.  This includes driving a divisional strategy that is aligned with the Lincoln Electric Vision, Strategy and Core Values.  This General Manager is responsible for Safety (EHS), Quality, Customer Satisfaction and Cost Improvement Initiatives.  This role will work closely with a number of Strategic Business Unit Leaders to optimize business metrics across both the Machine Division and the Business Units.

 

JOB DUTIES:

  • Assures all employees are operating to EHS standards.
  • Promotes a culture toward continuous improvement through the utilization of Lean, Six Sigma, and Employee Suggestions.
  • Places an emphasis on manufacturing high quality products to support the Lincoln Electric “value-Added” selling model.
  • Develops and coaches the organization to its full potential and ensures production team remains motivated and productive.
  • Drives improvement in operational metrics in areas such as safety, quality, cost, delivery and efficiency.
  • Allocates resources to best utilize assets and meet or exceed customer delivery expectations.
  • Manages the Machine Division P& L in a proactive way in an effort to assure predictable monthly results.
  • Facilitates the implementation of new products into the manufacturing environment.   
  • Develops strong business relationships with current and potential Lincoln customers.  Partners with Sales Management and R&D to ensure customer needs are met.
  • Promotes the development of employees to create promotional opportunities while building a successful and sustainable business model.
  • Promotes and maintains an environment of high integrity that is inclusive and respectful of all employees.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities and performs specials projects as needed or directed.
     

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or related field.  Advanced degree preferred.
  • Previous management experience typically achieved with a minimum of 10-15 years leadership experience.
  • Capable of leading by example and driving employee accountability.
  • Manufacturing experience with knowledge of Lean skills and Six Sigma preferred.
  • Ability to build strong cross functional teams in a matrixed environment.  This skill must transcend across all Operations, Commercial and Corporate functions.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with ability to direct various groups of employees performing unique tasks.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles (strategic planning, budgeting, personnel).
