PURPOSE:   Support and develop Industrial Engineering related processes in Consumable Division. 

 

JOB DESCRIPTION (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES):

  • Applies Industrial Engineering principals and utilizes Six Sigma methodologies to foster a culture of continuous improvement
  • Sets strategy and vision, while coaching and mentoring others
  • Designs efficient systems to integrate workers, information, machines, and materials
  • Responsible for day to day activities related to the creation of new materials and their impact on inventory, routings, cost, bill of materials, scrap, etc
  • Reviews mature products to ensure accuracy of inventory, routings, cost, bill of materials, scrap, etc
  • Proficient in ERP and MES software packages
  • Performs time studies, line balancing, and optimization techniques to generate piecework prices
  • Reviews work instructions, specifications, production schedules, process flows to ensure operational efficiency
  • Evaluates processes in terms of value/non-value added, as well as Lean Waste for future opportunities
  • Manages data associated with duties of this job in proficient manners and creates best practices for data handling
  • Strives to communicate key performance indicators of time study detail to production personnel
  • Responsible for executing end of year physical inventories
  • Creates executive management reports related to the functions of this position
  • Creates discrete event simulation models of production processes
  • Drives and supports new business and manufacturing process improvements
  • Performs capacity analysis for current state and future state scenarios
  • Supports system development divisionally utilizing best business practices
  • Responds to system and process issues by identifying short and long term solutions
  • Strives to centralize and harmonize data across Lincoln Electric’s systems

 

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • Industrial Engineering Degree or an Engineering degree in a related field.
  • 5-8 years of experience.
  • Proficient in various computer software, including ERP, MES, and time study software
  • Must be able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Must have a general knowledge of the processes, machines and equipment in a manufacturing environment. 
  • Must be able to understand and interpret the specifications and procedures related to this job. 
  • Must be able to follow detailed instructions and maintain neat and accurate records.
  • Must be able to use Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook.
  • Must be able to travel between the Euclid Consumables Plant and the Mentor Facility as required.
