PURPOSE: Manufacturing Engineering for Machine Products.



  • Assure safe, high quality, cost effective, environmentally responsible manufacturing of Lincoln’s welding machine products.  Work can be electrical, mechanical, industrial or chemical in nature depending upon background and job assignment.
  • Support and expand Lincoln Electric’s Manufacturing Execution System (MES).  Understand how MES interacts with other systems and leverage to improve business processes.
  • Handle small to medium sized projects and day-to-day shop support with supervision.  Assignments may be routine or non-routine and will typically involve a mix of analysis and hands-on activities. Larger projects and more technically challenging work will be supported by more experienced people inside or outside the department. 
  • Typical assignments may include but are not limited to:
  • Resolving safety, environmental and ergonomics issues
  • Process improvements and optimization
  • Cost reductions
  • Evaluation and implementation of employee suggestions
  • Development and implementation of new processes
  • Performing cost analyses
  • Shop support
  • Development of processes for and the launching of new products
  • Capacity studies
  • Quality improvements
  • Other assignments as assigned by the supervisor.



  • Minimum of a bachelors degree in an engineering field
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Good organizational skills & decision-making
  • Ability to handle a variety of assignment and changing priorities
  • Good computer skills, prior experience with SAP or comparable ERP system is a plus
  • Prior experience with a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) is s plus
  • Good written and oral communications skills
  • Able to perform hands-on work as required
  • Ability to occasionally work off shifts
  • Ability to be effective working extensively on the shop floor with employees and processes
