Summary
Lincoln Electric has an exciting engineering opportunity at our Cleveland headquarters. The engineer will play a key role in evaluating, developing, documenting, and processing special orders for a variety of customers and industries. Areas supoorted may include military, nuclear and/or non-nuclear as well as others. Responsibilities
- Review and analyze customer requirements and contracts pertaining to Special Orders.
- Engage Sales and End User (Customer) as necessary to clarify order requirements with respect to Welding Application.
- Review and analyze reports, records, and directives, and confer with supervisors to obtain data required for planning department activities, such as new commitments, status of orders and problems encountered.
- Coordinate manufacturing and testing of Consumable Special Product Orders by effectively communicating with Production, R&D, Testing Services, and Process Engineering.
- Resolve problems, prepare schedules, and set deadlines to ensure timely completion of orders.
- Checks and approves Certified Material Test Reports as required and keeps thorough records.
- Actively participate and progressively take leadership roles in team-driven activities related to continuous improvement such as Kaizen events, 5S, Process Flow, Cost Improvements, etc.
- Lead small group(s) of technical employees to determine root cause of problems; use problem solving tools to mitigate risk.
- Improve processes through statistical data analysis; lead improvement efforts.
- Create standard work instructions and related documentation for Special Orders processes.
- Maintain proficiency in the applicable Regulations, Codes, Standards, and Specifications commonly invoked in one (or more) areas of specialization:
- AWS/non-Nuclear ASME Applications (primarily Pipeline, Offshore, Refinery, Structural)
- Alloy Applications (may include Nuclear, Military, and AWS/ASME requirements).

- Assumes additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the Company’s 2025 Strategy, including continuous improvement (CI) activities.
Requirements
- Bachelors of Science in Engineering.
- Minimum of three (3) years Engineering experience [for Level II].
- Minimum of five (5) years Engineering experience preferred [for Level III].
- Advanced math skills including ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Has working knowledge and experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to analyze and resolve problems while communicating at all levels of the organization, both verbally and in writing.
- Computer proficiency of Microsoft Office.
- Self-starter, motivated and resourceful
- Detail orientated, strong work ethic and be results-driven with a focus to exceed goals and objectives
Preferred
- Basic welding knowledge (process types, consumable types, basic welding parameter definitions, welding positions etc.) is a plus.
- Working knowledge of SAP preferred.
