PC Board Designer

PURPOSE: Responsibilities entail design and layout of printed circuit boards. Duties include PCB design, layout documentation, and library management.

JOB DESCRIPTION (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES)

• Create new printed circuit board layouts and revise existing printed circuit board layouts.
• Create schematic symbols and footprints from component datasheets
• Check footprints against manufacturer recommendations and IPC specifications
• Maintain, update, and synchronize part databases in ECAD and PLM software
• Create new electronic schematics and revise existing electronic schematics
• Work with Machine R & D and Manufacturing during the design process to assure that designs are manufacturable. 
• Assumes additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the Company’s 2025 Strategy.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering Technology and/or relevant work experience
• 3+ years of professional experience creating and maintaining symbols and footprints for PCB libraries
• 5+ years of  professional experience with PCB layout and routing
• Mentor Graphics software experience
• PCB Design experience in analog, mixed, high speed and high voltage boards
• Experience with library configuration management
• Working knowledge of IPC standards and design for manufacturing guidelines
• Excellent communication and organization skills
• Ability to work well under deadlines
• Ability to learn quickly and succeed in a rigorous but fast-paced environment
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
