PURPOSE: This position processes all benefit files along with the associated work. Additionally, this position is responsible for financial close tasks associated with the benefits: Deferred Comp, Inter-company billings, (entries, accrual reconciliations, proper tax treatment etc.).
JOB DESCRIPTION (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES)
- Processes all benefit files for hourly and salary employees from a third party vendor.
- Participates in various benefit projects including acquisitions and consolidations.
- Responsible for coordinating with the Benefits Department during open enrollment and through the year, responding to benefit questions and analyzing benefit adjustments.
- Prepares various analyses upon request.
- Responds to requests from internal/external auditors: includes reporting, documentation.
- Assumes additional responsibilities and performs special projects as needed or directed.
- Responsible for account reconciliations for any benefit accounts under payroll.
- Responsible for tracking deductions in arrears.
- Responsible for end of month journal entries for any benefit refunds or adjustments.
- Responsible for providing any reports requested for benefits.
- Assumes additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the Company’s 2025 Strategy.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years’ experience required; Minimum of 12 years’ experience in lieu of degree
- CPP preferred
- Experienced with payroll and benefit practices and knowledge of laws for various states with ability to research laws and regulations
- Strong Accounting knowledge
- Solid understanding of benefit taxation
- Ability to follow-up on tax filing discrepancies
- Knowledge of ADP reporting and Vantage software
- Keen attention to detail and able to meet all deadlines
- Demonstrate advanced computer skills such as MS Excel, Word, SAP and HR Databases
- Ability to make solid and rational decisions regarding benefit technical issues
- Developed communications and writing skills
