PURPOSE:  To perform quality production process quality audits, checks and other quality related tasks for the Machine Division.




  • Define, troubleshoot and assist in measurement and resolution of daily production quality problems in manufacturing of wire feeders in accessories or other areas as required.
  • Maintain manufacturing quality performance metrics.
  • Assist with the proper identification and disposition of all non-conforming items.
  • Inform the appropriate personnel when there is a significant amount of material that is non-conforming.
  • Track all significant product, document, and process changes which affect quality.
  • Utilize Quality Management System and appropriate divisional personnel to support and drive continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate new product development and introduction.
  • Facilitate new process development and introduction into manufacturing.
  • Develop Quality Control Plans and Process Maps.
  • Understand and execute Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and Tooling Verification & Validation (TV&V) for new items.
  • Assist in quality training and performance feedback of production personnel to production supervision.
  • Perform thorough manufacturing process, and product audits.
  • Other duties as assigned.




  • High school diploma or equivalent required.  Two-year technology degree in engineering and/or additional training in Quality Assurance field is highly desirable. 
  • Experienced computer and MS Office software user including MS Word, Excel & Power Point (will be computer assessment tested).  Familiarity with SAP, Minitab, and CAD software is a plus.
  • Completion of Six Sigma Gray Belt online training preferred.  Six Sigma Red belt certification is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Machine Division products and processes preferred.  Assembly and final test experience is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of quality and manufacturing standards.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance tools, procedures, and measurement techniques.
  • Basic knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC), Control Charts (including pre-control), Process Capability and Measurement System Analysis (MSA) is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.  Ability to communicate diplomatically with all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle a constantly changing set of priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work effectively and cross-functionally on the shop floor on a regular basis.
  • Capable of frequent standing and walking and rarely lifting up to 60 lb.
  • Must have excellent attendance, safety and work record.
  • Ability to occasionally work off shifts, as required.
