Summary:

 

Lincoln Electric is seeking an R&D Lab Technician for our Cleveland, Ohio headquarters. The R&D Lab Technician will play a key role in supporting R&D Engineers in new product development. Responsibilities:

 

  • Work in Machine R&D laboratory assisting multiple projects in the design, construction, and testing of welding equipment products. Provides technical support to engineers and scientists in areas such as production, operations, maintenance, safety, testing, process improvement or product development.
  • Uses schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions or defined plans to perform testing and troubleshooting on electronic or mechanical components, equipment or systems.
  • Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles and manipulates technical data using established formulae and procedures and performs detailed mathematical calculations.
  • Use data acquisition system, computers, and CAD as required. Assist in the preparation of documentation.
  • Operate basic lab equipment including meters, oscilloscopes, temperature recorders, etc. (Training provided as needed).
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the Company’s 2025 Strategy.

 

Requirements: 

 

  • Technician II: Vocational Training and 3+ years’ experience required; or GED with 5+ years in related field.
  • Technician III: Vocational training and 5+ years of experience in a relevant work environment is required; or High School Diploma/GED with 7+ years’ experience in a relevant work environment.
  • Has working knowledge and skills to perform a defined set of analytical/scientific methods or operational processes.
  • Highly motivated, quick to learn, and safety conscious.
  • Ability to organize and maintain a neat work area and to maintain detailed test records.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects with supervision and clear instruction.
  • Experience in the use of common laboratory equipment.
  • Ability to read and comprehend wiring diagrams, schematics and test specifications.
  • Capable of lifting 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Good hands-on assembly and troubleshooting skills.
  • Electrical/electronic experience is a plus.
