PURPOSE: The primary focus of the Senior Compensation Analyst/Compensation Specialist is to manage, with minimal level of guidance, the effective and consistent application of compensation policies. This position serves as a point of contact for managers and support partners to address questions, concerns, and resolutions related to compensation and helps ensure market competitive compensation to attract and retain top talent. This position is the SME and administrator for SAPs Variable Pay, Compensation, and Rewards modules.
JOB DESCRIPTION (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES)
- Conduct the system administration of SAPs Variable Pay, Compensation, and Rewards modules to ensure accurate and timely payment and processing of bonuses, merit increase, and equity awards.
- Complete annual and as-needed Job evaluation and compensation benchmarking to ensure internal equity and market competitiveness while ensuring corporate compensation objectives are met.
- Participate in the administration of the annual bonus, merit, and equity award processes.
- Participate in compensation surveys by gathering information and completing questionnaires.
- Write and maintain a variety of reports to be used to analyze data or create models needed for projects, processes, or research.
- Conduct and facilitate routine audits of compensation data to ensure data integrity.
- Act as a valued and trusted advisor while providing routine support to business and support partners on compensation related matters, including review and processing of compensation workflow requests to ensure conformance to established policies. Recommends corrective or alternative actions to resolve compensation-related problems.
- Participate in HRIS projects as a key team member representing Compensation and providing advice and support. Able to manage small Compensation projects independently, including developing a simple project plan, aligning stakeholders, identifying deliverables, managing timeline and managing issues.
- Create and execute test plans, scenarios, and scripts to ensure accuracy of compensation processes and calculations. Participate as needed in the review, testing, and implementation of HR system upgrades, updates, and enhancements to ensure accuracy and delivery of appropriate features and functionality.
- As needed, develop or review procedures, guidelines, and documentation.
- Apply leading practices and knowledge to improve services and processes.
- Maintain awareness of current compensation trends. Continuously increase both compensation knowledge and compensation applications/tools knowledge.
- Act as resource for colleagues with less experience and, as needed, train junior staff.
- Support compliance requests for Corporate and external audits.
- Ensure compliance with international, federal, state, and local compensation laws and regulations.
- Assumes additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the Company’s 2025 Strategy.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Finance, Information Systems or related field, or a combination of education and equivalent, relevant work experience.
- Minimum three years progressive experience in Compensation or Compensation Administration including compensation applications/tools experience. Sales Performance Management (SPM) experience a plus.
- Some project management experience with the ability to lead small project teams or project steps, preferred.
- Analytical: Able to gain understanding of business strategies and priorities; Able to conduct root cause analysis; Able to interpret and document current state policies and processes; Using sound judgment, able to identify policy enhancements and process improvements and suggest them to users, and, once aligned, able to document outcomes in a clear and concise manner.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to address complex situations. Ability to bring new perspectives to existing solutions utilizing best practices and discipline knowledge.
- Good customer interaction skills, possesses empathy and ability to establish effective working relationships with all levels of the organization. Can challenge productively.
- Proficient using MS Word and PowerPoint; advanced Excel skills; and demonstrated experience in managing large amounts of data, statistics, model building, and reporting techniques. MS Access and VBA experience a plus.
- Experience configuring compensation systems. Success Factors modules implementation experience preferred. Awareness of interfaces and impact on system maintenance.
- SAP certifications in the Variable Pay and/or Compensation Success Factors modules, preferred.
- Results-oriented, self-starter with the ability to work as part of a team or independently on relatively complex matters with minimal supervision.
- Able to respond quickly and positively to evolving priorities under tight deadlines.
- Act with a high degree of confidentiality and organizational sensitivity.
