PURPOSE: The primary purpose of this position is partner with the broader HR and business teams to design and lead business and system process changes. Incumbents in this position understand HR processes and systems and use that knowledge to improve how they operate through business/system process redesign. Incumbent is responsible for working with the business to align on sensible changes and translate those changes into technical and functional requirements. Once aligned, the incumbent will lead certain projects to successful execution, including managing project resources.



  • Analyze business requirements for assigned system changes requested by end users and recommend solution design options.
  • Take a broad perspective to identify solutions, challenge appropriately to ensure alignment with users on a solid solution.
  • Translate business requirements into documented technical specifications.  Ensure good knowledge transfer to technical resources.
  • Provide guidance on the planning and implementation of HR system enhancements & new implementation projects for other team members.  May lead certain initiatives. 
  • Approve testing plans and approve changes before going into Production. 
  • Manage medium to large sized projects, including developing a project plan, aligning stakeholders, identifying deliverables, testing, managing timeline and issues.
  • Participate in development of HR Strategy and roadmap.  Make recommendations on inclusion of particular items Research vendor options/solutions as needed.  Synthesis findings and recommendations.
  • Develop/review user procedures, guidelines and documentation.  Review and approve training documentation.
  • Assist/support HRIS team members understand HR processes and the impact of systems on process.
  • Maintain awareness of current trends in HR systems.  Continuously increase both HR knowledge and HRIS application/tools knowledge. Leverage SAP education and customer issue resources. Participate and contribute in user group meetings/conferences, including presenting or participating at SuccessConnect.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the Company’s 2025 Strategy.



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Human Resources or a combination of education and equivalent, relevant work experience.
  • Minimum seven years progressive experience in Human Resources, HR systems, and general business. 
  • Successful incumbents possess in-depth expertise of HR system solution design and implementation.  Will be consulted for best practice advice on systems and process.
  • Experience managing medium to large projects including leading project resources.
  • SAP certifications in two or more of Success Factor modules, EC preferred
  • Good customer interaction skills, possesses empathy and ability to establish effective working relationships.  Can articulate technical concepts to laymen.  Can challenge productively.  Can teach/train users.
  • Human Resources Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) desirable.
  • Solves complex problems; takes broad perspective to identify solutions with an understanding of cross-functional process impacts.
  • Analytical and able to map out new processes. Advanced facilitation skills.  Possesses good organizational awareness and knows when other groups need to be involved in solution design. Awareness of process deficiencies, able to document current state processes, can identify process improvements and suggest them to users, and, once aligned, able to document out new processes.  Can drive alignment on new requirements.
  • Experience working in a business environment, HR practitioner experience preferred.  Understanding of how businesses work.
