PURPOSE:   This position is responsible for processing payroll for Factory and Salaried employees and may assist in other areas as needed.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES):

  • Processes Factory and Salary payroll, as well as any payroll adjustments and/or deductions.
  • Calculates partial pays, vacation payouts, tuition reimbursements, and other miscellaneous pays.
  • Loads employee transfer file from H/R and W-4 updates.
  • Verifies employee forms e.g. Change of Status and Long term absence.
  • Ensures timely set-up or change to Direct Deposit information.
  • Audits SAP HR, Timekeeping systems, ADP payroll and SAP system for consistency.
  • Reconciles payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.
  • Assists foreman and/or production assistants with Timekeeping inquiries.
  • Reconciles employee voluntary and/or temporary deductions.
  • Manages personal daily workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely.
  • Supports internal and external audit requirements.
  • Responds to employee payroll issues and escalates problems to Supervisor when needed.
  • Maintains internal controls and proactively works to identify and implement efficiency improvements
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as needed or directed.

 

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • AA/AS degree in Business or Accounting preferred.
  • Knowledge of Payroll practices and procedures required – minimum 5 year experience.
  • Advanced computer software skills including:  MS Excel and Word; knowledge of SAP HR preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle a large volume of detail work accurately and efficiently.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team; effectively manage competing demands.
  • Exercises strong initiative and uses solid judgment in all situations.
  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization and external customers.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all instances required.
  • Employs positive communication skills written, verbal and interpersonal.
