PURPOSE: Lead strategic sourcing of capital equipment and other indirect commodities and services. Communicate established deliverables and ensure company interests are protected. 

 

JOB DESCRIPTION (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES)

  • Responsible for the procurement of capital equipment, other assigned materials, and services
  • Responsible for Cleveland Operations capital and services spend and to coordinate/leverage purchases regionally and globally if needed.
  • Responsible for researching, recommending, planning, leading and implementing system and process improvements
  • Manage services and contractor agreements ensuring Lincoln interests are protected
  • Support operational excellence initiatives and systematically drive results 
  • Drive initiatives to enhance SAP knowledge and capability of the MRO team
  • Ensure that the supply chain will meet internal metrics such as cost reduction, working capital, delivery, quality, and customer service
  • Responsible for identifying, evaluating, and developing qualified suppliers and ensuing negotiations
  • Participate and sometimes lead cross functional and multi-facility teams to achieve goals and objectives
  • Report on key metrics and take corrective action when necessary
  • Report to MRO and Indirect procurement Manager
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the Company’s 2025 Strategy.

 

 BASIC REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials Management, Purchasing, Engineering or related field
  • An MBA, CPM, or CPIM certification is a plus
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in an industrial environment
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Advanced SAP or similar ERP experience
  • Hands on experience in procure to pay system solutions like Ariba, Coupa, or others is a plus
  • Experience in dealing with suppliers from both a direct and indirect perspective
  • Experience with contract language and negotiations
  • Experience with outsourcing fabrication and tooling
  • Proven record of solving problems
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Proven project management skills
  • Must be able to interface effectively with internal stakeholders, consultants, and suppliers
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, at all levels of organizations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other productivity software including Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
  • Willing and able to travel both domestically and globally; travel less than 5%
  • Must have good judgment and be self-motivated
  • Must be able to educate and influence others
