Specialist I, Systems Administration

PURPOSE: This position is responsible for providing solutions to improve processes, or solve complex technical issues. Strong skills are required on Windows Server, VMWare, and Cloud Administration. A key role in ensuring new technologies are selected and implemented in a timely manner.  



  • Provide technical support / administration / design for Windows, VMWare, and Cloud environments
  • Determine requirements, plan, and implement major product upgrades on both hardware and software. Design presentations to management concerning technical issues and upgrades
  • Direct projects / teams comprised of IT technical experts and business representatives
  • Support monitoring systems that span the server and cloud infrastructure
  • Provide Systems Maintenance request and test plans for cross platform projects. This includes making recommendations for standards
  • Quickly spot trends and accurately predict future requirements on assigned platform


  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business or equivalent relevant experience
  • 3-7 years of experience in supporting and designing Enterprise Microsoft Windows Server environments
  • 3+ years in VMWare and Cloud, supporting and designing Enterprise environments
  • Strong Active Directory skills in troubleshooting, configuration, and group policy’s
  • Strong scripting skills (Powershell) and experience automating processes
  • Strong disaster recovers skills on Active Directory, Windows Servers, VMWare
  • Understanding of virtual and physical networks
  • Highly motivated, self-starter, customer centric, and the ability to work without supervision
  • Demonstrates flexibility in responding to unexpected demands. Contributes willingly during emergencies and other necessary situations during and/or after regular work hours. This position requires night and weekend work along with on-call
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
