PURPOSE:   To lead the development, operation, and technical support of IT security solutions allowing Lincoln Electric to satisfy our internal standards and obtain the goals as defined by management.



  • Provide support to the Organization on a 24x7 basis.  Weekend/Holiday and after-hours support may be required for this position.
  • Responsible for the design, implementation, and coordination of remediation of Lincoln Electric’s threat and vulnerability program. This includes vulnerability scanning, threat hunting, penetration testing, and threat intelligence.
  • Design and implementation of application level security for any new applications including web applications. The Tech Lead II will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing the security weaknesses of any new programs and determine appropriate steps to remediate the risk and providing management with technical expertise and opinions on application risks and the appropriate mitigation of any risk.
  • Responsible for working with tech support on any endpoint security issues, manage the relationship with the MSSP, manage the EDR solution, as well as the vulnerability scanning tool.
  • Reviewing any network design considerations as they relate to the overall security of the Lincoln Electric network. The person in this role will be responsible for monitoring the network for possible security threats using tools such as IDS, IPS and any general network monitoring tools.
  • Developing and improving metrics related to all areas of IT Security.
  • This person will also Support System Development and Business unit activities either through participation in projects for new Systems Development roll outs or production support through the SIR process.
  • Proactively seek solutions to security problems. There is the expectation that this person will have to consult with the Manager, Information Security for more complex security related issues and decisions.
  • Persons in this role are expected to be largely self-sufficient and self-directed. While reporting to the Manager, Information Security, it is expected that persons in this role can be given projects and some general direction and can then work independently to achieve their goals.
  • Project Management: The person filling this role should be able to act independently and without much management intervention. The person in this should be able to take charge of a project and be able to put together a comprehensive detailed project plan and lead projects with limited supervisor intervention required.
  • Analytical Ability: Ability to quickly grasp new concepts, systems and approaches and to apply logical reasoning to determine the relationships of variables; ability to analyze security problems, evaluate and recommend creative alternatives. Should be able to consider the cost and other decision-making factors before determining a practical solution.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to solve problems with day to day issues that arise as a result of provisioning. It is expected that the person(s) in this role will not require intervention from the manager to resolve many of the issues that arise.
  • Planning Organization and Control: Ability to organize and plan the daily activities that provide optimum customer support.  Ability to complete assigned tasks in a manner that maintains consistent results.  Should be able to organize projects and take ownership of projects with minimal intervention from supervisor.
  • Leadership Qualities: Be able to lead projects and direct personal that are engaged in projects. Should be considered a go to person by peers.



  • CISSP certification is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer or Information Systems, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 15+ years experience in IT, with 10+ years focused in IT Security
  • Any or all of the following are desired:  Palo Alto Certifications, CCNA, ISSAP, SSCP, CISM, or CISA
  • Broad understanding of the Open System Interconnection (OSI) layers.
  • Understanding of networking and firewall commands, application level security, and vulnerability management.
  • Sound functional knowledge of network, application, web, and endpoint security along with vulnerability management.
  • A good understanding of Windows, Linux and Unix OS.
  • Take initiative in generating written and oral communications. Ability to explain technical problems in laymen’s terms. Ability to work with others in a team.
  • Present a professional image at all times. Act independent of social and cultural pressures. Understand and respond to departmental priorities.
  • Provide solutions or services tailored to the requirements of the customer.
  • Maintain state of the art knowledge in the areas of network security, application security and general knowledge of current events in security. Ability to work with others
  • Regularly identifies new tasks that can be learned and incorporated into job role either as a main or backup function.
