PURPOSE: To determine the standard time to perform a specific task and set an accurate piecework price so that a typical employee is able to earn base rate when working at 100 percent efficiency.


JOB DESCRIPTION (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES):

  • Conduct product costing analysis using labor, material, and overhead costs for Lincoln Electric and competitors' products
  • Establish or adjust prices for piecework operations for new or changed parts and/or assemblies and processes using historical data, stopwatch time study method, and estimation using job experience
  • Assist other departments in evaluating cost for changes they may want to implement
  • Maintain records of all time study analyses that are performed
  • Analyze manufacturing processes to look for more efficient ways of production
  • Monitor new product manufacturing processes and advise Research and Development of product improvement suggestions
  • Work with Machine R&D, Quality Assurance, Purchasing, Shipping, and Manufacturing personnel to identify, correct, and prevent process deficiencies
  • Assist the Time Study Manager on special assignments


BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • College level of education or equivalent experience
  • High degree of knowledge of products and processes for assigned areas
  • applicable codes and specificationsUnderstanding and knowledge of industry standards for engineering and quality, as well as
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to handle a constantly changing set of priorities
  • Ability to learn the production (SAP) computer system, PC software packages, and network capabilities
