PURPOSE: To support Welding Service operations in Welding for Lot Certification of salable products, Conformance Weld testing, and any activity related to Consumable product development or investigation

JOB DESCRIPTION (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES):

• Performs standardized or prescribed assignments that may involve a sequence of related operations.
• Assist Welding Services Supervisor with daily operations including Weld assembly inspection, welded joint inspection etc.
• Assist with welding of standardized test plates to specification, tack welding as needed at times.
• Conducts and documents a variety of standardized tests; prepares routine test specimens using established procedures and/or drawings; sets up and operates standard test equipment; records test data.
• Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles and manipulates technical data using established formulae and procedures and performs mathematical calculations.
• Provides technical support to engineers and scientists.
• Responsible for executing work in accordance with instructions provided.
• Performs additional tasks as required by engineers or supervisor.
• Responsible for the safe operation, cleanliness and routine maintenance of all assigned equipment.
• Support continuous improvement of team members and processes.
• Assumes additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the Company’s 2025 Strategy.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

• Level III:

      Vocational Training & 5+ years of related experience or,

      Associates Degree in related field or

      High School Diploma or equivalent & 7+ years of experience in related field

• Level IV:

      Vocational Training & 8+ years of related experience or,

      Associates Degree in related field or,

      High School Diploma or equivalent & 10+ years of experience in related field

• Understanding of arc welding, including demonstrated ability to weld at least one of the following: SMAW (manual), GMAW (semiautomatic and/or automatic), GTAW (manual), SAW (automatic) and/or FCAW (semiautomatic and/or automatic).
• Applies experience and skills to complete assigned work.
• Highly motivated, quick to learn, and safety conscious. Demonstrated ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain neat, accurate records.
• Proven ability to work independently and as a part of a team with minimal supervision.
• Has working knowledge and skills to perform a defined set of analytical/scientific methods or operational processes.
• Mechanical aptitude to mechanize welding processes and troubleshoot when required.
• Ability to develop a positive and cooperative work environment with colleagues and supervisors.
• Ability to work on multiple tasks with clear instructions. Familiarity with personal computers using the Windows operating system.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Understand and follow all procedures, specifications, and Plant Rules and Regulations associated with the performance of this job.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. on a regular basis.
