Windows Software Developer/Engineer

PURPOSE: Design, implement, and maintain Windows desktop applications used for configuration, diagnostics gathering, and updating of embedded systems in the field. Work with product management and engineering groups to gather software requirements and translate into functional software. Continually improve application performance, usability, and testability.



  • Will be responsible for development of Windows .NET desktop applications using the C# language according to requirements from internal and external customers.
  • Will develop applications for communicating with embedded software on various target platforms which will require accounting for data endianness, composing packets for proprietary application layer communication protocols over various physical layers such as Ethernet and USB, and working with proprietary APIs.
  • Define, design, implement, and test Windows applications while creating strong documentation and specifications for these tasks.
  • Provide input on project feasibility and creation of project schedules.
  • Develop new ideas and a vision for future capabilities through interactions with Manufacturing, Marketing, Engineering, IT, and various customers
  • Perform assignments with minimum supervision while maintaining project goals and scheduled due dates.
  • Performs engineering work in operations, production, construction or maintenance environments.
  • Develops and applies engineering standards and procedures and provides advice on issues within the engineering field.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the Company’s 2025 Strategy.



  • Minimum B.S. degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 9 years engineering experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with .NET (C#), Visual Studio, Win Forms, and WPF.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle a constantly changing set of priorities.
  • Initiative to take ownership of product designs.
  • Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of particular field of specialization to the completion of difficult assignments. 
  • Working knowledge of welding equipment, processes, and procedures.
  • Experience with Git and SVN version control systems.
  • Experience with C++ and MFC preferred.
  • Experience with Xamarin platform a plus.
