EPICOR Operations Analyst

PURPOSE: This position is responsible for overall support and optimization of all operations related processes implemented throughout Lincoln Electric’s Automation businesses using Epicor’s operations modules (Sales, Service, Supply Chain, Planning and Scheduling, Production, etc.) This involves continuous collaboration with the global Automation operations teams and an extended group of internal (and possibly external) stakeholders to identify, prioritize and implement process enhancements, and to readily address and resolve production support issues as they arise. Position is not required to reside in/near Fort Loramie, Ohio.


REPORTING: This position reports to the Senior Manager, Global Systems Development



  • Provide primary oversight for Epicor’s operations related modules, including Sales & Service Management, Supply Chain, Planning & Scheduling, and Production, from solution definition and specification, to implementation to production support and optimization.
  • Serve as primary business analyst for Epicor’s operational processes to identify ways to continuously improve them through the application of Epicor capabilities and associated technologies, striving for operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Translate business requirements into functional requirements and document these in functional specifications to facilitate Epicor enhancements.
  • Manage internal and external relationships with key partners and stakeholders including Automation site operations teams, local leadership, consulting partners, and Corporate IT.
  • For larger initiatives, develop project plans including project scope, approach, Epicor architecture, task list, staffing requirements, and then execute according to plan.
  • Assist with defining testing procedures to be conducted when validating new system enhancements/changes.
  • Ensure all system changes are clearly documented and tracked within Corporate IT’s SIR tracking database.
  • Provide guidance to Corporate IT Security Team on Epicor application security as they process Epicor user security requests.
  • Work with the Automation business team to actively manage, prioritize, and implement a continuous queue of operations related Epicor system enhancement requests, tracking requests within Corporate IT’s Quip Demand Request Tracking Log.
  • Work with Corporate IT Information Governance as required to respond to inquiries from internal or external auditors related to annual Epicor SOX audit requirements.
  • Prepare documentation of current business processes and identify process gaps and shortcomings as opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation on Epicor best practices within the Lincoln Business System framework, and strive for uniform conformance to these best practices across LE’s Automation businesses.
  • Document time spent on specific projects using Lincoln’s time tracking tools.
  • Assume additional responsibilities and perform special projects as needed or directed in support of Lincoln Electric’s strategic goals.


  • 2+ years’ experience (Analyst II) / 4+ years’ experience (Specialist I) with the Epicor ERP system, either as an end-user or in a consultative capacity, with in-depth knowledge of its operations modules including Sales & Service Management, Supply Chain, Planning & Scheduling, and Production.
  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree, preferably in Operations, Supply Chain, Information Technology, Engineering, or related business/technical field.
  • Preferred minimum of 1 year of experience serving as business process functional analyst.
  • Working knowledge of best practices as related to conducting business using Epicor ERP in a manufacturing environment, preferably in an Engineer-to-Order business context.
  • Highly motivated, goal oriented team player with strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with, train, and collaborate with business users and functional experts, IT and technical resources to ensure the IT needs of the business are being met.
  • Analytical expertise to identify and resolve problems by recommending and implementing creative solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and execute projects of reasonable complexity.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Project preferred.
  • Ability to give and receive directions/instructions, and to leverage available resources to translate ambiguous or indefinite directions into specific, actionable steps to achieve goals.
  • Willingness to pursue continued professional development through formal, informal and on-the-job training to maintain keen knowledge of Epicor capabilities, technologies, and best practices.
  • Knowledge of Engineer-to-Order processes in a manufacturing setting is highly desirable.
  • Ability to create reports using Epicor tools, SQL queries, and/or data extraction a plus.

  • Be aware of OSHA & EPA laws and regulations as well as the Company’s Plant Rules and Regulations that pertain to this job.
  • Work in a safe and environmentally friendly manner and observe all company EHS procedures.
  • Know that the company EHS procedures are located on the ISO drive.
  • Immediately notify the Supervisor if there is any safety hazard, any equipment not operating correctly, or if there are any questions regarding EHS procedures.
  • Attend required EHS training
