Position Summary:  This position is responsible for the development and implementation of Laser sales strategies and plans to acquire new business for assigned solutions and services to meet or exceed annual sales goals and grow market share. The individual is responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships at assigned accounts and engaging with customers to ensure effective and efficient utilization of resources.


Role qualifications:

  • Must be familiar with Company quality objectives and play an active role in reaching continuous improvement objectives.
  • Function as the Wayne Trail primary representative for assigned accounts.
  • The focus of this role will be to establish, support, and maintain relationships with key customers, at all levels of their business, resulting in growth in business, share growth within targeted customers, and overall customer satisfaction.


Position responsibilities:

  • Distribute and follow up on Customer Satisfaction Survey.
  • Develop relationships with all levels within assigned customers to ensure communication, trust, and satisfaction.
  • Prepare Weekly and Monthly sales forecasts.
  • Development and execution of a sales plan for assigned region.
  • Develop opportunities to quote new processes and applications (resistance welding, material handling, laser welding, service offerings, etc.) and create more efficient methods of processing.
  • Work with the customers on part design, manufacturability, plant layout, component staging, part flow, etc.
  • Communicate with the Operations Team to tackle customer concerns.
  • Understand the customer’s business and key needs.
  • Develop a long term strategy to increase share within assigned customers by anticipating their needs.
  • Develop a plan to ensure that Wayne Trail is prepared to meet the future needs and applications of customers better than the competition.
  • Develop relationships within corporate headquarters, plants, and divisions related to Wayne Trail customers.
  • Complete Wayne Trail RFQ process including Sales Force entries.
  •  Follow up on status of all recent and active quotations.
  • Generate budgetary quotations as needed.
  • Assess market opportunities to select market and customer targets that are best fit for Wayne Trail.
  • Select market and customer targets that are a best fit for Wayne Trail.
  • Active participation in the setup and facilitation of Wayne Trail involvement in industry trade shows.



Essential skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Operations/Finance or proven equivalent in experience.
  • Associates degree in engineering, management, manufacturing, or equivalent experience
  • Previous experience in, or doing business with, equipment and tool build environment
  • Sales experience
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in, or doing business with, laser equipment and tool build environment
  • Capable of providing problem solving guidance to customers
  • Customer relationship skills
  • Organizational and Communication Skills

  • FMEA, Equipment Capability, Safety (OSHA, RIA, ANSI Stds.)

Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S)

  • Understand the Company’s EHS Policy and how it relates to this job.
  • Be aware of OSHA & EPA laws and regulations as well as the Company’s Plant Rules and Regulations that pertain to this job.
  • Work in a safe and environmentally friendly manner and observe all company EHS procedures.
  • Know that the company EHS procedures are located on the ISO drive.
  • Immediately notify the Supervisor if there is any safety hazard, any equipment not operating correctly, or if there are any questions regarding EHS procedures.
  • Attend required EHS training
