Position Summary:  Complete Mechanical Engineering items needed to design, build, ship, and service our products. A Mechanical Designer typically works on one complex design at a time and can do all Mechanical Engineering tasks from start to finish on a project.


Position responsibilities:

  • Understand and gain knowledge needed to work in software systems. i.e. Autodesk Inventor
  • Provide mechanical layouts and details to production.
  • Take initiative to meet challenging project timelines and budgets (hours and material).
  • Ability to act as Engineering lead, designer, and detailer for small-scale projects.
  • Ensure required ISO documentation is completed.
  • Assist in compiling documentation for Service Manuals, updating design package to reflect status configuration of any critical item.
  • Ensure that product, as designed, is in conformance with Wayne Trail Technologies, Inc. quote and customer purchase order.
  • Provide technical assistance to Estimating, Sales, Production and Service as required.
  • Work well in a team environment and communication groups may include;  Machine builders, Project Management, Engineering Teams, Management, and support functions.
  • Provide small-scale mechanical layouts and detail prints to production.



Essential skills and experience:

  • Technical Degree and/or equivalent experience
  • 3D Solid Modeling experience preferred
  • Level based on years of proven design experience with Industrial Automation is preferred
  • Computer proficiency, including spreadsheet, word processing, and project management software.
