Position Summary:  Install, repair, and maintain various types of industrial automation equipment at a customer’s facility.

                                   

Role qualifications:

  • Must be familiar with Company quality objectives and play an active role in reaching continuous improvement objectives.
  • Focus on system troubleshooting, technical support, and customer satisfaction.

 

Position responsibilities:

  • Take initiative to meet challenging project timelines and hour budgets.
  • Be able and willing to travel as required (install, start-up, or field support) to successfully complete projects.
  • Communicate effectively with others while on assignment to provide detailed reports and updates.
  • Solve problems independently or as a member of a team to provide the following system troubleshooting needs:  Wiring, PLC, HMI, robot logic/path programming, Networks & Fieldbus.
  • Assist in-house Customer Service support (training, phone, etc.).
  • Ensure required ISO documentation is completed.
  • Work well with customers, Project Engineers, Machine builders, Electrical Technicians, Management, Electrical Designers, and support functions.

 

Essential skills and experience:

  • Technical Degree in electrical engineering field desired
  • 5-10 years electrical programming and troubleshooting experience.
  • Machine Programming (PLC/HMI) experience - Rockwell, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Omron, or Bosch.
  • Safety System, Network, and Fieldbus Programming and Trouble Shooting experience.
  • Robot Programming experience - Motoman, Fanuc, OTC, Nachi, or ABB.
  • Experience in robotic welding (MIG, TIG, Laser, or Spot) preferred.
  • Hydraulic/Pneumatic/Lubrication system troubleshooting experience and
  • Machine Assembly experience: Basic Machining and Assembly skills/knowledge, Operate forklift.

  • Safety (OSHA STDS), ANSI (RIA) Standards.

 

Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S)

  • Understand the Company’s EHS Policy and how it relates to this job.
  • Be aware of OSHA & EPA laws and regulations as well as the Company’s Plant Rules and Regulations that pertain to this job.
  • Work in a safe and environmentally friendly manner and observe all company EHS procedures.
  • Know that the company EHS procedures are located on the ISO drive.
  • Immediately notify the Supervisor if there is any safety hazard, any equipment not operating correctly, or if there are any questions regarding EHS procedures.
  • Attend required EHS training

  • Physical demands:  While performing duties of job, employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk and hear.   Be able to climb ladders; lift hand tools approx. 1-15 lbs. in weight to complete machine assembly, parts up to 50 lbs.  Repetition with activity. 
  • Work environment:  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
