The Service Technician will provide phone support, product support, customer service, support documentation and data entry.  The primary focus will be troubleshooting products to isolate any mechanical or software-related issues, including operational errors.  At times, the job will require travel to the customer’s location to provide onsite installation, end-user training, troubleshooting equipment, and resolving service call issues. 

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

 

  1. Provide support to customers via phone and email in response to inquiries, concerns, and requests regarding products and services
  2. Gather customer information and determine the issue by evaluating and analyzing the symptoms
  3. Identify and escalate priority issues
  4. Convey training and troubleshooting advice to customers
  5. Provide timely follow up, making scheduled call backs to customers when necessary
  6. Publish support documentation to end users including tech bulletins, assembly guides, digital resources, and video tutorials
  7. Stay current with system information, changes and updates
  8. Learn and operate product software and CNC machinery quickly and proficiently
  9. Organize ideas and communicate oral messages appropriately based on listener and/or situation
  10. Research required information using available resources
  11. Maintain a troubleshooting tracking log ensuring timely resolution of problems
  12. Advise customers on preventative maintenance and configuration adjustments to improve product performance and customer satisfaction
  13. Provide onsite technical support for existing customers with software and machine issues while keeping detailed service event logs
  14. Work closely with other factory personnel to ensure quality and customer satisfaction
  15. Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, wiring and component failures in a production environment
  16. Travel domestically and internationally for onsite training and installation of new equipment
  17. Perform general duties as assigned and assist in other areas as workload requires

     

     

    REQUIRED SKILLS

 

  1. Exceptional communication skills via phone, email and in person
  2. Strong knowledge of computers and general computer programs including MS Office
  3. Strong analytical skills; creative problem solver
  4. High level of professionalism and integrity; good judgment
  5. Domestic and International travel up to 30%
  6. Uncompromising attitude toward safety, customer service and quality
  7. Good mechanical aptitude with ability to use industrial tools and electrical testing equipment such as hand tools, voltmeters and oscilloscopes
  8. Associates Degree in Electronics Technology (or related field) or 3+ years’ relevant experience

  1. CNC knowledge and CAD experience
  2. 2+ years’ experience of industrial electrical knowledge including wiring schematics, systems, and components

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is sometimes exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration, airborne particles, and machine lubricants and chemicals used in cleaning processes.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.  The employee is frequently required to stand/walk on cement floors; use hands to finger, handle, or grasp; and reach with hands and arms. The position requires occasional lifting, pushing and pulling objects that weigh up to 75 pounds.  The employee is frequently required to grip and operate hand tools with a minimum of 50 in/lbs of force.  The employee is frequently required to see fine components and possess manual dexterity to properly place and solder these components.
