JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a Quality Assurance Intern / Trainee to work in our aerospace and automotive segments.

 

YOU'LL LEARN TO (DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES):

  • Approve incoming materials by confirming specifications and conducting visual and measurement tests
  • Reject and return unacceptable materials
  • Approve in-process production by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and communicating required adjustments to the production supervisor(s)
  • Approve finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, returning products for re-work, and confirming re-work
  • Document inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarize re-work and waste, and input data into a quality database
  • Keep measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions, calling for repairs
  • Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
  • Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs
  • Document actions by completing production and quality logs
  • Accomplish organizational goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
  • Additional job duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Recent graduate or a current student studying Quality Assurance, Manufacturing Management, Operations Management, or similar field preferred
  • Ability to use micrometers, calipers, and gauges
  • Understanding and knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, CATIA, ENOVIA, GD & T
  • Ability to pass a drug test in compliance with the law
  • Ability to pass a background check in compliance with the law
  • To conform to U.S. export control regulations, applicants should be eligible for any required authorizations from the U.S. Government

  • Operation and control: Control of equipment or systems operations
  • Active listening: Paying full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
  • Critical thinking: Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
  • Coordination: Adjusting actions in relation to the actions of others
  • Judgment and decision making: Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one
