Safety and Certification/EHS Manager

The Operational Safety/EHS Manager will facilitate compliance with occupational health and safety regulations. Provide advice to minimize hazards or unhealthy situations, and be on constant lookout for possible violations.



  • Oversee and implement EHS training programs and training assessments to ensure required training is identified and conducted
  • Conduct regular safety and environmental audits of EHS processes and necessary follow up to ensure compliance and advise plant Management and corporate EHS staff of findings
  • Analyze injury/illness experience, identify/track injury correlation, determine root causes, determine corrective action and communicate this information to local and corporate leadership.
  • Manage new equipment programs at the concept stage to ensure that EHS design specifications and regulations are included
  • Ensure ergonomic processes implemented/ integrated in an appropriate manner
  • Manage routine safety reports including data acquisition, documentation, record keeping, monitoring, review, and approval
  • Coordinate communication of EHS regulatory inspection activity with Local and Corporate leadership
  • Lead EHS projects to improve EHS key performance metrics
  • Manage, in partnership with medical, first aid and lost time cases to help ensure desired outcomes
  • Manage local DOT program to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Prepare and submit regulatory documents as needed (OSHA, TRI, SWPPP, TIER II, LEPC, DOT, Hazardous waste, etc.)
  • Other duties as assigned



  • High school diploma/GED, certificate in Machine Tool Technology or equivalent work experience
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3-5 year proven OSH experience required.
  • Certificate in occupational health and safety.
  • Knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices.
  • Strong, proven computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized with great attention to detail

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to risk of electrical shock. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.
