Lead CNC Setup Machinist & Operator

Lincoln Electric Cutting Systems, a subsidiary of Lincoln Electric, is the manufacturing headquarters for both Torchmate® and Vernon Tool® branded product lines. We manufacture CNC plasma cutting machines for two distinct markets: pipe profiling (Vernon Tool), and plate cutting (Torchmate).

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a reliable, motivated, and hardworking individual to join our team. Under general supervision, the candidate will lead a team of machinist with set-up and operation of CNC lathes and mills in a production environment. Schedule jobs and verify quality of parts produced by the production team.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Set-up CNC mills and lathes (Haas experience required)
  • Schedule workload according to due dates and internal/ external needs
  • Setup and operate Haas CNC Mills & lathe, operate manual mills & lathe as required
  • Monitor and maintain proper stocking levels of raw materials, tools and supplies for department
  • Verify parts are made to drawing specifications
  • Work cooperatively in a team environment, maintaining high safety and quality standards
  • Provide basic maintenance for equipment
  • Participate in company programs and initiatives such as Physical Inventory
  • Various other production duties as assigned by Production Manager

 

Education & Experience

  • 8+ years of proven CNC programing and set-up experience with strong understanding of G and M codes
  • Solid knowledge of MasterCAM programming software
  • Knowledge of selecting proper cutting tools and speed and feed requirements for various metals
  • Strong set-up skills for CNC mills and lathes (Haas experience required)
  • Uncompromising attitude toward safety, customer service and quality
  • Must be able to schedule work for the team in a high mix low volume production environment
  • Must be able to maintain required production rates for Kanban and custom production orders
  • Ability to follow written and verbal work instructions
  • Ability and willingness to work various tasks/machines to meet production requirements
  • Ability to work Saturdays and overtime, when necessary
  • Must be physically able to push, pull, bend, stoop, climb, reach, lift 75 lbs, lift continuous weight and stand/walk on concrete floors for long periods of time
     

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Manufacturing environment; may be exposed to loud noises, changing temperatures, and machinery with moving parts.
