Position Summary: 

This job involves overseeing the implementation of large, custom mechanized welding and cutting systems into customer facilities including: system installation, weld and cutting process development, system programming, troubleshooting, customer training and documentation, technical and functional support, and analysis of warranty claim cost and frequency to ensure continuous improvement in manufacturing and product design.

           

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Integrating mechanized welding systems
  • Programming industrial control systems
  • Developing mechanized welding processes
  • Field service on Lincoln Electric products
  • Customer technical support via phone, email and other methods
  • Customer training and documentation
  • Troubleshooting circuits, repair as needed
  • Travel, work remotely and autonomously

 

Qualifications Required:

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in electronics or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • Strong ability to diagnose electrical circuits and electromechanical systems.
  • Understanding of welding processes, including GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, and SAW; ability to operate automated welding equipment safely; skill in using hand and power tools.
  • Must have the ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical prints, weld symbols. 
  • Ability to develop and document procedures. 
  • PC literate in MS Office applications, excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. 
  • Willing to travel 40-60% domestically and internationally, must possess or be eligible to obtain passport; flexible to work or travel on the weekends.

  • Physical Demands: Work is usually a mix of standing and walking, pushing, pulling, manipulating tools and being in awkward physical positions.  Use of the telephone is extensive.  In the office there is minimal reaching, bending and lifting in relationship to documents and stored records. When at a customer facility, there will be lifting, reaching, bending, dragging, pulling and carrying of parts and equipment.  This individual may have to walk long distances to reach the equipment within the customer’s facility.  This individual must be able to occasionally lift 70 pounds and frequently lift 25 pounds. This position requires manual dexterity and visual acuity to utilize the assembly equipment and tools. The position requires vision, hearing, smell, and speech.
  • Work Environment: Traveling is extensive and may be unplanned and immediate; hours may be irregular.  Temperature may be hot or cold, inside and outside.
