Mechanical Drafter

Arc Products, a subsidiary of Lincoln Electric, designs and manufactures automated welding systems focused on fixed automation, orbital TIG and orbital MIG. Located in San Diego, California, Arc Products engineers and manufactures standard and custom automation systems for simple to  complex applications.

 

Currently we are seeking a full-time Mechanical Drafter to join our growing team.
 

Responsibilities

  • Generate 3D models, assemblies and drawings with SolidWorks (2014 or newer).
  • Dimension mechanical drawings for machine shop fabrication.
  • Create exploded views and assembly instructions for production.
  • Revise drawings through engineering change request process.
  • Implement new part releases and changes in MRP system.
  • Work with engineers to complete drawing packages.
  • Perform other related duties as needed.

 

Qualifications

  • Proficiency with SolidWorks for drafting and 3D modeling.
  • Experience modeling sheet metal parts in SolidWorks is a plus.
  • Knowledge of dimensioning and tolerance standards.
  • Knowledge of GD&T is a plus.
  • General understanding of machine shop practices.
  • General knowledge of finishing processes for metal.
  • Basic computer skills, including MS Office (Word and Excel) and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Experience with SAP is a plus.
  • Good communication skills, both orally and in writing, and a willingness to ask questions.
  • Strong time management skills, while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Organized and able to handle multiple tasks and competing priorities.
  • Motivated team player, and must have the ability to work both independently and well with others.

 

Education and Experience

  • Two-year technical degree in Mechanical Drafting or related field is preferred.
  • At least 2 years related experience
