Job Summary

Fori Automation’s Controls Engineering Department is seeking a Controls Hardware Checker/ Designer. The candidate will work out of our Shelby Twp., Michigan facility and must demonstrate the following to be considered.

Job Duties

  • Detailed Checking of controls drawings
  • Verify Designs meet codes, regulations, customer specifications, and best practices
  • Responsible for quality of drawings, revisions, part lists and other related documentation
  • Participate in Design Reviews
  • Participate in the updates and creation of design standards.
  • Work directly with project engineers, team managers and purchasing personnel
  • Prepare detailed working engineering drawings and schematics of electrical components and devices
  • Prepare detailed working engineering drawings and schematics of pneumatic components and devices
  • Research and specify materials to be used, when required
  • Revise drawing and generate change notices.
  • Generate bills of materials from specifications and drawings

Position Requirements

  • Associate degree in a technical field or relevant work experience
  • Strong background in analyzing engineering documents and layout of systems in regards to components and parts
  • Working knowledge of relevant electrical standards including NEC, NFPA-79 and UL-508A
  • Understanding of electrical design concepts and processes, components, circuits and power distribution
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical and EPLAN
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Possess excellent time-management skills; ability to meet production schedules while managing multiple priorities
  • 5-10 years’ experience in this classification
