We are excited to bring back the Warehouse Lead position.  This is a key role for servicing our customers. This position processes customer orders for shipment efficiently and accurately using best practice methods and approved procedures as well as oversees and directs the warehouse team as needed.

 

Key Deliverables 

 

Works safely and supports safety within their team across the organization.  Maintains accurate, daily time reporting. Processes daily orders efficiently and accurately. Adjusts daily hrs according to order flow, or to cover for vacations or absence by another team member or working overtime when necessary

 

Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions 

 

  • Trained to pick, pack and process customer orders
  • Facilitates daily operations, order flows, staffing needs, and receipts
  • Processes daily orders through LTL and SPO
  • Can PGI and scan daily orders and file
  • Tracks and posts daily team performance data
  • Loads and unloads trucks as needed
  • Operates all machinery required to do the job in accordance with established safety procedures
  • Inspects machinery prior to use and changes batteries as needed
  • Maintains packaging supplies for packing area        
  • Directs the activities of workers on the assigned shift to ensure an efficient flow of orders.
  • Ensures all employees are abiding by established safety procedures.  Immediately corrects any unsafe acts, reports any accidents, incidents or near misses to EHS or HR Manager as well as the Department Manager and documents them
  • Ensures warehouse area is kept neat and orderly and any unsafe conditions are immediately corrected and reported to the Department Manager
  • Assists in the performance review process
  • Communicates daily with the Department Manager and other Leads
  • Communicates Team Metrics and helps develops better methods to reach the department goals
  • Trained in all Warehouse Associate functions and performs whatever function necessary throughout the shift
  • Oversees completion of Hazmat paperwork if applicable
  • Assists in completion of EHS inspection checklists
  • Participates in scheduled meetings involving Warehouse Manager, Supervisors and other Leads
  • Works safely and supports safety within their team across the organization – As required

 

 

Safety Training, Team Meetings & Lean concepts 

  • Leads and participates in safety training and demonstrates a high regard for safety at all times
  • Attends team meetings
  • Utilizes lean tools: 6s, visual factory concepts in maintaining order, cleanliness and safe work environment

 

 

Education and/or Experience

 

Required –

  • One (1) year related experience and/or related  training in warehouse functions
  • Average computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft products and SAP
  • High school diploma
  • Forklift Certification (or the ability to obtain it)
