Position overview:

 

As a Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for working with all departments, suppliers, and customers to achieve a Total Quality culture throughout the organization.  You will collect and analyze processes, and supplier and customer data by using the Six Sigma process and recommend corrective actions.  The Quality Engineer will visit suppliers and customers to validate and promote HPG quality initiatives and ensure quality processes are communicated and followed by all entities.

 

  • Provides Quality engineering leadership and support in the manufacturing environment
  • Analyze process data and recommend engineering changes to improve quality
  • Perform audits and inspections to ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies and customer requirements
  • Supports daily issues; protect flow and respond to daily customer demand
  • Design, install, and evaluate quality control systems, procedures, and statistical techniques that are critical to quality
  • Formulate or help formulate quality policies and procedures
  • Provides Quality engineering services to moderately complex and specialized projects which lead to new or improved systems, constructions, materials or manufacturing processes in accordance with sound engineering principles, policies and controls
  • Ensures all processes conform to specifications (ISO 9001, 14001 & 17025, External Specifications, etc.)
  • Develop and maintain product process control documentation
  • Performance data gathering & analysis, inspection/quality planning
  • Design tests / gauges to validate process and product specifications
  • Lead cross-functional teams to facilitate new product introductions, process and procedural changes using DMAIC and Kaizen to identify and eliminate root cause of process issues
  • Analyzes and resolved customer complaints. Develops and implements solutions for existing products and processes through collaboration with other engineering, operations and technical personnel
  • Completes customer or supplier PPAP testing and documentation.
  • Analyzes product and performance data issues timely, writes report and recommends corrective actions

 

Qualified candidates must be goal-driven sales professionals who possess:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Metallurgy, or other related disciplines
  • 3 + years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in Quality tools and Six Sigma statistical analysis, ISO 9001 or TS-16949 & 14001 a plus
  • Auditor certification to ISO 9001 or TS-16949 a plus
  • Excellent computer skills; effective written and verbal communication
  • SAP and Minitab knowledge a plus
  • Introducing and implementing Lean tool use, selection and applications in a manufacturing environment (Lean Sigma Certification and experience a plus)
  • APQP and AIAG Core Tools a plus
  • Some overnight travel may be required
