Position Summary: Project Engineer is a hybrid role, bridging responsibilities in both the Business Development and Project Management departments.  PE will engage customers via the RFQ and Application Development process, working with the Applications Team to develop, cost and propose the appropriate solution.  If awarded the project, the PE may remain engaged with some of all of the active stages of the project to assist a designated Project Manager to complete the project on-time and on budget.

Responsibilities:

RFQ/ Application assessment – determine if the subject application is a good fit for our company

Solution Development – Utilize resources & tools to determine proposed solution for the project

Cycle Time Analysis – Analyze process inputs to determine the appropriate equipment/ application needed to confirm adequacy of the solution

Costing – utilize cost based template to determine the necessary costs to design and build the proposed solution

Strategy – evaluate resources, lead times, and competition to determine appropriate pricing for the proposed solution

Once an award has been issued, work with assigned Project Manager to distribute project details to the stakeholders within the business.

Take initiative to meet project timelines and hour budgets;

Manage project scope to remain compliant with proposed solution

Evaluate cost/ timeline impact to proposed scope changes.

Collaborate with Project Management to meet requirements for internal runoffs, safety inspections and other quality control procedures;

Maintain clear and effective communication with project management staff and supervisors regarding issues that may arise, and to ensure project runs smoothly;

Review production schedules, engineering specifications, orders, and related information to maintain current knowledge of manufacturing methods, procedures and activities in assigned area;

Uphold company quality objectives; and

Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Experience / Skills:

Bachelor degree in Project Management, Business Management, Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent preferred;

3+ years’ experience in Project / Program Management;

Solid technical background with an understanding and/or hands-on experience in robotic automation;

Excellent client-facing and internal communications skills;

Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking;

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel)

Strong working knowledge of Salesforce is a plus.

Previous, proven demonstrated excellent team playing abilities with organizational and time management skills;

Experience with CAD software (Creo and/or SolidWorks preferred)

High attention to detail and quality;

Ability to plan and execute daily and weekly scheduled tasks;

Ability to keep work area clean and organized;

Willingness and ability to collaborate with team members in fast paced environment

Nonessential Skills and Experience:

Safety (OSHA, SDS), ANSI (RIA) standards

Experience in PLC programming;

Experience in FANUC Robotic programming;

Experience in FANUC WeldPRO or other simulation software
