Basic Functions: Provide turnkey set-up and operation of a variety of automatic or semi-automatic machines including Manual Mills, CNC Mills, CNC Lathes, and Surface Grinders to create components that conform to their engineering drawing and/or solid model CAD data to produce components for the assembly of automation solutions and equipment

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Set-up and operate machining equipment to produce components that meet the requirements described on their engineering drawings and/or technical specifications according to established Machining Department priority
  • Determine processes, procedures and/or methodologies to produce components in an efficient manner
  • Act as an informal resource for colleagues with less experience
  • Effective & efficient use of all tool room machines and equipment
  • Effective use of Inspection & Test equipment
  • Utilize math skills, including basic Algebra and Trigonometry

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience and/or Machine Trades training, completion of a two year technical program is preferred
  • Proficiency in a range of technical processes or procedures (or deep skills in a single area) through job-related training and considerable work experience
  • Mechanical knowledge of machines and tools
  • Working knowledge of engineering drawings and their tolerances
  • Basic knowledge of design techniques, principles, tools and instruments involved in the production and use of precision technical plans, prints, engineering drawings, and models
  • Building and construction knowledge of materials, methods, and the appropriate tools to construct machine tools, dies, fixtures, and machinery
  • Math Skills- utilize basic Algebra and Trigonometry
  • Must have own tools
