Summary:

 

Lincoln Electric is seeking a Commodity Sourcing Specialist for our Cleveland, Ohio headquarters. The Sourcing Specialist will play a key role in supporting Lincoln electric's product developmenht by procuring specified commodities.  This is an outstanding opportunity to join a global leader in its industry. Responsibilities: 

 

  • Interface closely with the Accessories Business Manager, Engineering, QA, Marketing and Finance to identify parts & suppliers that are candidates for best sourcing.
  • Identify and quantify the economic opportunities for and lead strategic sourcing projects.
  • Develop formal commodity strategies, identify, develop qualified suppliers and manage supplier performance and strategic relationships.
  • Coordinate New Product Development activities to meet Company stage gate objectives.
  • Support Demand Planning with an understanding of the Domestic and International
  • Achieve Company performance objectives, particularly business working capital.
  • Deliver “best in class” procurement function.
  • Report key measurements and take corrective actions where necessary.
  • Participate on and/or lead cross-functional teams.

 

Required: 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials Management/Purchasing/Engineering or a related field.
  • 8+ years’ experience in procurement/materials/engineering experience in manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in dealing with suppliers and excellent negotiation skills (understand cost drivers)
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills.
  • Project management skills and work as a cross functional Project Team Leader.
  • Leadership skills, self-initiative, problem solving, and an ability to read blueprints.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office productivity software, such as Excel, Access and PowerPoint.

 

Preferred: 

 

  • MBA, CPM, CPIM certification a plus.
  • An excellent understanding of SAP / Ariba is beneficial.
  • International sourcing experience and willing to travel internationally a plus.
