PURPOSE: To assume full responsibility, subject to specifications and company policies for the procurement of specifically assigned commodities.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES)

  • Interface closely with cross-functional stakeholders to identify parts & suppliers that are candidates for best sourcing.
  • Identify and quantify the economic opportunities for and lead strategic sourcing projects.
  • Develop formal commodity strategies, identify, develop qualified suppliers and manage supplier performance and strategic relationships.
  • Coordinate New Product Development activities to meet Company stage gate objectives.
  • Support Demand Planning with an understanding of the Domestic and International
  • Logistics markets to maximize lean objectives while meeting Company service levels.
  • Achieve Company performance objectives, particularly business working capital.
  • Deliver “best in class” procurement function.
  • Report key measurements and take corrective actions where necessary.
  • Ensure quality, delivery and total cost objectives are met.
  • Participate on and/or lead cross-functional teams.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the Company’s 2025 Strategy.

 

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering or a related field.
  • 3+ years’ experience in Supply Chain or other transferrable experience
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills.
  • Project management skills and work as a cross functional Project Team Leader.
  • Leadership skills, self-initiative, problem solving, and an ability to read blueprints.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office productivity software, such as Excel, Access and PowerPoint.

PERFERRED REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience managing electronic components and/or PCBA contract manufacturers 
  • Understanding of Lincoln products and Lincoln Supply Chain, Production Planning and Demand Planning
  • MBA or other relevant graduate degree
  • A good understanding of SAP (or other ERPs)
  • E-sourcing experience will be considered a plus.
  • Experience in dealing with suppliers and excellent negotiation skills (understand cost drivers)
