PURPOSE:  Program laser, punch, press brake, stamping press, pemsert, atom cutter and other equipment in sheet metal, department 9-11.  Provide support functions and perform other assignments as assigned by the supervisor.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES)

  • Program sheet metal equipment and optimize the manufacturing process to improve safety, quality and manufacturing costs.
  • Assure safe, high quality, cost effective, environmentally responsible manufacturing of Lincoln’s welding machine products.
  • Works autonomously with limited supervision to perform small to medium sized projects and day-to-day shop support.  Proposes solutions to problems and drives Continuous Improvements.  Assignments may be routine or non-routine and will typically involve a mix of analysis and hands-on activities.  Supervisor will determine the assignments.
  • Typical assignments may include but are not limited to:
    • Resolving safety, environmental and ergonomics issues.
    • Process improvements and optimization.
    • Cost reductions.
    • Evaluation and implementation of employee suggestions.
    • Development and implementation of new processes.
    • Performing cost analyses.
    • Shop support.
    • Development of processes to launch new products.
    • Capacity studies.
    • Quality improvements.
    • Other assignments as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the Company’s 2025 Strategy.

 

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 8 years of factory experience with vocational training or 10 years of factory experience.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle a variety of assignments and changing priorities.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Good decision-making ability.
  • Good written and oral communications skills.
  • Able to perform hands-on work as required.
  • Ability to work off shifts.
  • Ability to be effective working extensively on the shop floor with employees and processes.
