Engineering Assistant- Electrical

Position Summary:  Assemble products, inspect parts, all while gaining experience and on the job training until all criteria listed below is met.

Role qualifications:

  • Must be familiar with Company quality objectives and play an active role in reaching continuous improvement objectives.
  • Be aware of the relevance and importance of their activities and how they contribute to the achievement of quality objectives.

 

Skills upon Completion

  • Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience on shop floor by assisting in wiring in Tool Room .
  • Experience in Wiring, Panel Design, Creating Electrical Prints and BOM, Robotic Teaching and Programming.

College Plan

  • Attend Rhodes State College, UNOH, or Edison University to obtain an Associate’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Attend Ramtec or Fanuc Robotic Class and PLC Class.
  • CMC to reimburse class costs for all completed courses with a B- or better grade

Work Plan

  • Target 40-hour work week hire on full time.
  • CMC to be flexible with how employee gets hours to accommodate class schedule.
  • Year 1: to work on Shop Floor assisting toolroom on Wiring support, Assembly Support (75%) and assist in updating Electrical Schematics (25%).
  • Year 2: Employee to be assigned to Lead Electrical Engineer. Employee to work with Lead Project Engineer on their projects assisting in Schematic and Panel Layout work. Also, to assist in I/O checks and become familiar with programming. Maintain 25% of hours with floor support.
  • Year 3 & 4: (if needed) Employee to be assigned to Lead Electrical Engineer. Employee to work with Lead Project Engineer on their projects assisting in Schematic and Panel Layout work. Also, to assist in I/O checks and become familiar with programming.
  • Reports to Engineering Manager.

Reporting to this position:  No direct reports.

  • Understand the Company’s EHS Policy and how it relates to this job.
  • Be aware of OSHA & EPA laws and regulations as well as the Company’s Plant Rules and Regulations that pertain to this job.
  • Work in a safe and environmentally friendly manner and observe all company EHS procedures.
  • Know that the company EHS procedures are located on the ISO drive.
  • Immediately notify the Supervisor if there is any safety hazard, any equipment not operating correctly, or if there are any questions regarding EHS procedures.
  • Attend required EHS training
