Purpose:  The Quality Engineer role at Lincoln Electric Automation in Fort Loramie, OH is maintain the momentum of our growth in this current dynamic marketplace. Lincoln Electric Automation has an International presence with our primary concentration on the North American market. 

Job Description (Duties and Responsibilities)

  1. Leads APQP activities for supplied product
  2. Works within a cross functional team to ensure the overall quality of a manufactured product
  3. Creates documentation, devising quality plan and defining the criteria a plan should meet.
  4. Submits Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), including PPAP/FAI, FMEA and Control Plan creation, Inspection and Test Plans documentation
  5. Ensures that the requirements of the Control Plan are being fulfilled
  6. Involved in, manages customer complaints, and follow up of corrective action process.
  7. Must be able to write, review, and verify applicable specifications.
  8. Support manufacturing, engineering, and quality in identification of root cause defect analysis and correction.
  9. Effective and excellent verbal and written communication skills for a demanding and customer focused working environment
  10. Partner with engineering to define design verification and validation test requirements that will ensure appropriate objective evidence is available to support the acceptance criteria
  11. Utilize standard statistical analysis and problem solving techniques as necessary to determine product acceptance limits, establish process parameters, resolve quality problems
  12. Initiates corrective action request as needed and tracks to satisfactory completion. Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA), Non-conforming materials and MRB, Material review Board management.


Basic Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in related field of practice or significant practiced experience
  2. 2-3 years’ experience in field of specialization preferred
  3. Strong knowledge of statistics, quality systems, and quality tools
  4. Working knowledge of the metal fabrication industry, print-to-order job shop environment
  5. Working knowledge of the quality system requirements (especially ISO)
  6. Working knowledge and experience in AS 9100 processes preferred
  7. Must be able to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and have a good understanding of geometrical dimensioning and tolerance
  8. Must be able to write, review, and verify applicable specifications. Support manufacturing, engineering, and quality in identification of root cause defect analysis and correction.
  9. Work overtime when needed


Essential skills and experience:

  1. Practical knowledge of APQP including: FMEA, Control Plans, Inspection Plans, PPAP, MSA, FAI
  2. Practical knowledge of GD&T
  3. Thorough understanding of Root Cause Analysis:  8D, 5Why
  4. Must meet the minimum requirements of the job, as listed above.
  5. Must NOT be on an active Performance Improvement Plan (PIP)
  6. Problem solving skills, strong analytical, numerical, and reasoning abilities
  7. High degree of creativity to innovate process improvement ideas to challenge and effectively change current practices
  8. Solid judgment and resourcefulness to deal with multiple factors impacting the business
  9. Excellent teamwork interactions with employee
